The Lost Whale Wedding

The morning began the way so many mornings do along the Trinidad coast—wrapped in thick, beautiful fog. For a wedding overlooking the ocean, you always quietly hope the fog might lift by the afternoon. And somehow, the timing couldn't have been more perfect.

The morning unfolded slowly at Lost Whale Inn, surrounded by gardens, coastal air, and that peaceful fog that makes Trinidad feel a little otherworldly. Before the ceremony, the couple shared their first look tucked away in the gardens. It was quiet and intimate, giving them a few moments together before the rest of the day began.

And then came the ceremony.

Just as the bride began walking down the aisle, the fog lifted. Brilliant sunshine broke through over the coast, and suddenly the entire afternoon was glowing. With the ceremony overlooking the Pacific Ocean, you could even hear the seals in the distance.

After the “I do,” they didn't simply walk back down the aisle—they danced. They danced down the aisle and around their guests while live music played, setting this wonderfully relaxed and joyful tone for the rest of the celebration.

The personal details made the day even sweeter. The bride wore a beautiful floral crown, and she had made all of the wedding cakes herself for dessert. Dinner was incredible, live music continued in the background, and the entire celebration had this peaceful, intimate feeling that fit Lost Whale Inn so perfectly.

Golden Hour at Wedding Rock

As evening approached, we slipped away to Wedding Rock at Sue-meg State Park for golden-hour portraits.

After beginning the day beneath dense coastal fog, we ended it with one of the most brilliant sunsets.

The bride wore a flowing cape, and as the sun dropped toward the Pacific, the golden light filtered straight through the fabric. Between her floral crown, the movement of the cape, the ocean cliffs, and that incredible light, everything felt romantic and a little whimsical—almost like a scene from a storybook.
