Jadon & Danielle’s Wedding at Cliffside Acres in Ohio
Before their wedding, Danielle told me she wanted a photograph of the two of them genuinely smiling together, because Jadon is always making her laugh. That detail stayed with me. It gave me something personal to look for throughout their day—the way they naturally bring out joy in each other.
I flew to Ohio to photograph and film their wedding at Cliffside Acres in Springfield. Their celebration brought together private vows, meaningful first looks, and portraits among the cliffs and greenery, with plenty of the laughter Danielle had described.
A Wedding Day with Time for Each Other
Danielle planned first looks with both her dad and Jadon, making room for those relationships before the ceremony. She and Jadon also shared private vows, giving them time to focus on each other before celebrating with their guests.
I love when a wedding timeline leaves room for moments like these. There is time to let a reaction unfold, stay close a little longer, and photograph what happens naturally. For Jadon and Danielle, those moments were especially meaningful to capture alongside the more formal parts of their wedding.
Romantic Portraits Among the Cliffs and Greenery
The mossy staircase, cliffs, and grassy areas at Cliffside Acres were among the settings Danielle wanted to include in their portraits. Those natural textures gave us beautiful variety while keeping their photographs connected to the place they chose to get married.
Their palette of black, white, espresso, and gold, paired with greenery, brought a classic feel to the day. Against the stone and surrounding landscape, the styling felt elegant and grounded.
As I photographed them together, I kept coming back to Danielle’s wish for a genuine smiling photograph. My direction always leaves room for movement and connection, and with these two, their laughter was as much a part of the portraits as the setting.
Photographing Their Day in Photos and Film
Alongside their photographs, my daughter captured video for their wedding highlight. Film gives movement its own place in the story—the first looks, the closeness during their vows, and the laughter between portraits.
Traveling from Northern California to Ohio to document their wedding was such a privilege. I’m grateful Jadon and Danielle invited me into a day that felt so personal to them, and trusted me to preserve it through both photographs and film.
