Miles and Miah
Miles and Miah invited me along as the third wheel for a romantic two-part date night in Eureka, California.
We started at Fresh Freeze with ice cream and french fries, leaning into a more classic and comfortable feel for the first half of the session—playful, casual, and full of personality. They made photographing them effortless. At one point, Miles grabbed the cherry from the top of the ice cream and teased Miah with it, which turned into some of my favorite candid moments of the evening. Since they’re both dancers, they naturally ended up dancing together in front of the restaurant, adding such a fun and carefree energy to the session.
For part two, they changed outfits and the mood shifted completely. We went for a more elevated, classy look with a moody and romantic feel. We began at Old Town Coffee & Chocolates, where the storefront windows and warm lighting created the perfect atmosphere for a dreamy coffee date aesthetic. From there, we wandered just outside the shop and found an alleyway that instantly inspired me creatively.
I had recently been introduced to the word “juxtaposition,” and this spot felt like the perfect way to explore that idea visually—elegance and romance set against textured alley walls and an urban backdrop. The contrast created something that felt cinematic, artistic, and unexpectedly beautiful.
Sessions like this are some of my favorite to create because they feel so intentional and unique. If you love the idea of dressing up, embracing creativity, and not worrying about who’s watching, this kind of storytelling session might be the perfect fit. The result feels personal, stylish, and completely one of a kind.
