A Fairytale Elopement at the Beach | Part Two of Their Redwood and Coast Love Story

By the time we reached the beach, they had already spent golden hour together beneath the redwoods. Now, with bare feet in the sand and the ocean stretching out before them, their fairytale had a whole new setting.

These photographs tell the second part of their story—and they’re such a beautiful example of why I love pairing the redwoods with the coast for elopement portraits.

From the Forest to a Sunset by the Sea

We planned our evening to catch the warm light in the redwoods before heading to the beach for sunset. The timing worked beautifully, giving them golden light in both places and time to enjoy each other along the way.

At the beach, everything felt open and dreamy. The most amazing clouds were scattered across the sky, and low tide had left a mirror of wet sand along the shore. As the sunset unfolded, its colors reflected beneath their feet.

It was the kind of evening you wish you could stay in a little longer.

Crowns, Bare Feet, and a Whimsical Dress

Her beautiful Selkie dress brought so much whimsy to the shoreline. They wore handcrafted crowns and rings—personal details that carried their fairytale theme from the trees to the sea.

Both were barefoot, walking together across the wet sand. I loved the romance of it all: the dress, their crowns, the reflections, and the way they naturally reached for each other.

Their connection made these photographs feel so effortless. With a little gentle guidance from me, they had room to settle into each other and enjoy the evening while I photographed those moments.

Why I Love a Two-Part Elopement Experience

There is something so special about having both the redwoods and the beach in your story. Beneath the trees, everything feels intimate and tucked away. Then you arrive at the ocean, where there is room to wander, move, and watch the sky change together.

Your gallery gets that beautiful variety, but you also get the memories of both places. You can remember how small you felt beneath the trees and how the sand felt under your feet as the sun went down.

The beach photographs shown here are only half of their evening. Paired with their redwood portraits, they tell a fuller story of a day they made their own.

I help plan the timing and locations so the two parts flow comfortably together. The drive, the light, and the sunset all matter when we’re creating time for both.

Your Love Story, From the Redwoods to the Coast

Imagine spending the afternoon wrapped in each other’s arms beneath the redwoods, then finishing the evening barefoot beside the ocean. Your wedding clothes pick up a little sand, the sky turns golden, and you get a few more quiet moments together before the day ends.

That’s what I love about this two-part experience. You get to enjoy two extraordinary places with the person you love—and leave with photographs that bring you back to both.

If you’re dreaming of elopement portraits in Northern California, the redwoods and coast make such a beautiful pair. Your love story deserves a day that feels like a dream, and I would love to help you plan it.
