David and Krista
Elopement in the Redwoods and Beach
David and Krista got married in Michigan and, just five days later, flew to California for a post-wedding couple session they intentionally planned as part of their honeymoon. Instead of cramming every photo into the wedding day, they chose to put their wedding attire back on and create space for something slower, meaningful, and unforgettable in Humboldt County.
They had never seen the redwoods before, which made it even more special. In the quiet of the forest, they exchanged private vows and shared a feet washing ceremony—symbolizing Christ as the servant of all. As a faith-centered photographer, moments like this mean so much to me. I love when Christ is truly at the center of a relationship and marriage.
We timed their portraits for that beautiful dappled redwood light, then headed to Wedding Rock in Trinidad for sunset over the Pacific. A glowing veil, lanterns, and even a seagull flying overhead with a starfish made the evening unforgettable.
Their relationship is the kind I dream of photographing. Rooted in Christ, full of intention, and such an honor to witness.
