A Surprise Engagemnt
A week before he planned to propose, Myles reached out to me. After six years of dating, he was ready to ask Chrissy to marry him—and wanted to make it extra special. Although they live in Redding, they love to travel, and Humboldt County is a place they had visited and love. That’s where the planning began.
Since they weren’t local, Myles and I worked closely together through phone calls and emails—figuring out where to meet, how to get Chrissy dressed up without raising suspicion, and how I could follow along unnoticed.
College Cove in Trinidad, California set the scene perfectly. It was a place familiar to them, and the dramatic coastline felt like the ideal backdrop. I followed a short distance behind as they walked the trail. The tide was high, but Myles found a tucked-away spot overlooking the ocean. He dropped to one knee—and Chrissy said yes.
After the proposal, we took advantage of the golden light and stunning coastal views for their engagement photos. Everything came together so beautifully.
It was truly an honor to witness and document such a meaningful moment. Being invited into moments like this is something I never take lightly.
