Josh and Fanessa's wedding at The Bluff in Humboldt County was a beautiful mix of heartfelt moments, meaningful traditions, and a whole lot of fun. From emotional first looks and a Christ-centered ceremony to groomsmen playing bodyguards and a dance floor full of glow sticks, their wedding day had so much personality woven into it.
First Looks, Happy Tears & a Beautiful Outdoor Ceremony
The day began with two special first looks. First, Fanessa shared a sweet moment with her dad before seeing Josh for the first time in her wedding dress. Both were such meaningful moments before the ceremony even began.
Their outdoor ceremony was beautiful and peaceful, with their Christian faith at the center of their vows. One particularly meaningful part was taking communion together, beginning their marriage with a shared expression of faith.
Surrounded by family and friends in the Northern California countryside, Josh and Fanessa officially became husband and wife!
A Bridal Party With a Sense of Humor
Of course, the day wasn't all happy tears and romance. There was plenty of laughter, too!
Josh had handmade little wooden guns for the ring bearers, which was such a fun and personal detail. And the groomsmen took things one step further, transforming into the newlyweds' very own bodyguards, complete with fake guns for some hilarious bridal party portraits.
Those photographs were such a fun contrast to the more romantic parts of the day and showed off everyone's personalities perfectly.
A Special Set of Vows for Josh's Daughter
After the ceremony, Fenessa shared one of the sweetest moments of the entire day. She had written a special set of vows just for Josh's daughter, making promises to her as she officially became part of their family.
With Josh standing beside them, watching and listening, Fenessa spoke directly to his daughter about the love and commitment she was making to her.
It was such a touching moment, and a beautiful way to include his daughter in their wedding day. Not only were Josh and Fenessa becoming husband and wife, but they were also beginning this new chapter together as a family.
Windswept Wedding Portraits
The Northern California weather definitely made an appearance! With the wind picking up and temperatures getting chilly, we kept their couples portraits short and sweet.
Even with the cold, we were able to capture some beautiful, romantic moments together. Sometimes all it takes is a few minutes away from the celebration to create photographs filled with genuine connection, a little movement, and those sweet newlywed moments.
Glow Sticks & a Dance Floor Full of Fun
As the evening continued, the celebration turned into a lively dance party, complete with glow sticks!
After a day filled with emotional moments, meaningful vows, and beautiful family memories, everyone had the chance to let loose and celebrate the newlyweds. It was such a fun way to end their wedding day.
Josh and Fanessa, thank you for inviting me to document your wedding. From your heartfelt ceremony and private vows to the playful bridal party portraits and dancing, your day was such a wonderful celebration of your marriage, faith, and family.
